What type of transfers can be made?
Rapid Transfers lets you perform "me-to-me" transactions only - such as emergency fund transfers, moving funds between a prepaid debit card and bank account, or just transferring funds between personal bank accounts. Please note that to use Rapid Transfers, you will need to connect via a debit card number (either from a physical card or your mobile wallet).
How does Rapid Transfers differ from traditional ACH transfers in terms of speed and cost?
Rapid Transfers are much faster because they're sent over the debit card network instead of the traditional ACH (automated clearing house) network. This cuts transfer completion times and allows processing 24/7/365. In fact, with Rapid Transfers, money movement that once took days to complete can now be done in a matter of seconds.
What are the fees to use Rapid Transfers?
You will incur a small fee when using this service. The fee is a percentage of your transaction and will be disclosed to you prior to submitting your transfer.
How is this different from products like Venmo®, CashApp®, and Zelle®?
Rapid Transfers are near-instant "me-to-me" transfers that let you send money between your Freedom First account and an external account in your name. Venmo®, CashApp®, and Zelle® are "peer-to-peer" payment platforms designed to let you send money to other people or accounts you don't own.
Are Rapid Transfers final? What if I change my mind?
As with other platforms offering similar services, once your transfer is sent, it is final and cannot be reversed. Before the transfer is finalized, it will show you the fee estimate and ask you to confirm or cancel. If you have not yet confirmed the transfer at this stage, you can cancel the transaction.
What about fraud and security?
We have numerous protocols in place to verify your identity and validate your accounts when you add a new card. Additionally, the service is only available to you from within your secure mobile banking app or online banking, so you can rest assured that as long as your account login credentials are secure, so is this service.
What happens if there aren't enough funds for the transaction?
If there are not enough funds, the payment will fail instantly.
