Freedom First is a member-owned cooperative, which means that membership with us also makes you an owner. Each year we set aside time to review the previous year's performance, vote on Board of Directors nominees, and discuss the upcoming year.
Each year we report on our earnings and financial condition, as well as on our commitment to our five critical goals:

  2. Improve the financial lives of our members
  3. Be a great place to work
  4. Increase the economic vitality and quality of life in our community
  5. Be a leader in corporate governance
The 2026 Annual Meeting will be conducted on March 26, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Freedom First Elmwood Headquarters located at 207 Bullitt Ave SE, Roanoke, VA 24013.
 
Please note that we will be requiring proof of membership to attend, as this meeting is for members only. Please bring a government-issued photo ID for verification that you are a primary account holder. For security purposes, simply stating a member number will not be a sufficient way to confirm your identity. Thank you for your understanding.

For 2026, the Governance Committee has selected three candidates for the three open positions on the Volunteer Board of Directors. We will not have a formal voting election process for 2026 since the number of candidates submitted by the Nominating Committee to serve on the Volunteer Board in 2026 equals the number of open positions to be filled on the Volunteer Board.

The candidates are Shirley Holland, Robert Jennings, and Dr. Maxine Lee.
